Welcome to our Community Resources Blog! 

We want to use this page to help one another identify resources in and around our community for our children.  If you know of a resource such as a camp, dance school, drivers ed school, etc. that supports our children let us know.  The more resources we get the better the services and activities we can have for our children.

Theatre & Arts

Sensory Friendly films at AMC Theatres in Tyngsboro, MA-by Trader Joe's across from the Pheasant Lane Mall

--Haven't been to them-but it could be the right venue for some families.

 

Broadway Bound Performing Arts Center in Merrimack lists in their 2012 Spring Schedule that they have classes for special needs children.

--I have never used this organization but it is another resource for parents to consider.

 

Moving Spirit in Merrimack. Website indicates that they have classes for special needs children.

--One parent commented "their child loves it and finds it very relaxing"

 

Sonatina Music Therapy-  is a private practice in New Hampshire providing evidence-based, client centered music therapy services. Music therapy is a powerful, non-invasive therapy that can improve the physical, emotional, social and musical well-being of all individuals served.

--I have never used this organization but it is another resource for parents to consider.

Camps/Summer Programs

ACES Summer Program Keene State College, Keen, NH

ACES is a two-week residential program at Keene State College where you'll explore...

  • finding your career path

  • learning how to live independently



ACES combines classroom learning, stimulating discussion groups, on-site experience of work environments, dorm living, recreation, and a weekend
in an outside setting.




ACES is for high school students with learning disabilities or ADHD.

--Heard from one parent this was a wonderful experience for her child.
 
Camp Rampano is a residential summer camp in Rhinebeck, New York, that serves children ages 6 to 16 with social, emotional or learning challenges, including children affected by autism spectrum disorders. Camp Ramapo’s program is carefully structured and maintains a one-to-one staff-to-camper ratio, which promotes positive behavioral change, fosters skill development, and supports learning and personal growth.
